3 Hidden Values That DRIVE You

Your brain is a powerful machine, built for efficiency and survival - it automates many of your daily decisions to streamline life and relieve your mental load. Experts estimate that over 90% of our daily decisions are subconscious. This means that (for most of us) our unknown value systems are driving the majority of our daily habits. Without assessing the impact of your story and establishing an intentional value system, these unknown values are likely running your life with very little input or reflection.

There are 3 unseen value systems that are silently guiding your life, and you can’t afford NOT to be aware of their impact on your daily decisions:

These are the values you have that you’ve never thought about or questioned. They are likely impressed upon you by the culture, family, and organizations you exist in. They aren’t inherently bad, but every value that you live by can be audited and compared to the truth of God’s word, His character, and who He has uniquely created you to be.

These are the values that make up your routines and reactions. They can be formed as a response to needs or as a way to seek protection. For example: If you frequently need space away from others after socializing, you may value time alone. This might not be a conscious choice, but a behavior you developed to meet a need.

These are the values that make up the person you wish you were. They can sometimes be tied to shame, wishful thinking, and outside expectations. If left unrecognized and unchecked, these values can cause destruction to our lives, even if the behavior associated with them isn’t necessarily “bad”.

So, what are we supposed to do with these hidden value systems that are driving our decisions?

In part, we must go back to the stories that have shaped us. There is no bypassing the work of understanding how we've been formed. And regarding these value systems that create unintentional choices on our behalf, there is a way to TAKE YOUR POWER BACK.

By reflecting on and choosing your own unique core values, you’ll be giving your subconscious an intentional guide to operate from. Not only that, but you’ll likely feel more grounded and present in the bigger decisions you make!

Discovering and auditing your core values helps keep your top priorities in plain sight and offers clarity around important needs, decisions, and intentional sacrifices - unlocking more purpose in your relationships and more personal connection to your work.
THIS is the stuff that actually creates more room for happiness in our lives -purpose, connection, and clarity.

Because we DEEPLY desire this kind of clarity and presence for you, Tori Hein and I have co-authored a downloadable PDF mini course to help you understand your unknown values, audit the story-lead choices that drive you, and discover your unique core values - leading you to intentionally curate built-in discernment and allowing you to have the confidence to live more of your life on purpose.
